I believe that one must
create that which one feels, not what is popular: So there is no compromise, of
one’s Soul. This is my goal in painting. I suppose there are many reasons for
painting as there are painters. I’ve never thought of art as a hobby or as a
profession, but a way to sustain life. A form of health food for the body,
mind, and spirit. Here in Mississippi I’ve found a vitality and warmth that I
can live with and hopefully grow for many years.
